3 stars for Red & Wolfe by Ella James

I reared-wolfed the first part of this series in February 2015 and it was an ‘Okay’-read. The past few days I reread that first book followed by the next 3 in the series. I did enjoy them but for me personally there wasn’t really much story to it. Insta-Lust, a hot dom and a willing woman… That gave some very hot scenes even though it didn’t really feel like a D/s relationship. There was also a little bit suspense but that’s basically it. I think it would have been better for me personally if there had been more Epilogue.

Anyway I enjoyed this modern version of Little Red Riding Hood and damn what a Big Bad Wolf there was 😉

3 stars for “The Last Riders – 07 – Lucky’s Choice”

luckys-choiceI didn’t read this one but listened to the Audible. So I didn’t make notes and therefor this is a shorter review…

I have read 8 of her books and loved them all!! But now this one… I’m a little bit disappointed. I really did love Lucky. Any woman would be happy to have him. Even if I don’t believe myself I wanted him! All of him… I wouldn’t want him to change for me and I felt in this book that he had to change to much for Willa. And as for Willa… There is almost nothing I like about her 😦 She acts childish at moments. Her church means so much for her but she does often does name calling and lying. Lucky is a saint for putting up with her.

But Besides all that it was written very well. Just like her previous books. So even if I really didn’t like Willa and I’m not a big fan of religion in books I’m giving this one 3 stars. I also loved reading about the other couples…

over-the-edgeA sweet woman and 2 dominating men who both love her. Will and Ian have shared women before but they never felt the need to keep one … until Olivia. Will Olivia be able to give her heart to two men at the same time? What will her family and friends say?

Unfortunately I’m not a too big fan of insta-love and here it was very insta! I’m also still not sure how I feel about Will but I really loved Ian.

This third book can be read as a stand alone and even though this book wasn’t a winner for me I’m curious about the first 2 books about her brothers Darren and Cameron.

3 stars for “Blackstone Dynasty – 01 – Filthy Rich” by Raine Miller

filthy-richI really did love the writing style from this author. She writes beautiful and descriptive. But unfortunately the story didn’t really work for me. It was a lovely story, it started out wonderful but that was just it. I would have loved some more drama with Caleb’s crazy ex or some suspense around Brooke’s past. Just something more. I guess the problem also was the insta-love. It just doesn’t work for me. At times it was also too cheesy for me. I did love Caleb though. He was very caring and patient.

BUT as I said in the beginning I really do love the writing style so I’ll definitely try another book by this author. The next book in this series is about James and Winter and I’m curious about their story so I might read it…

3 stars for “The Bossman – 01 – The Bossman” by Renee Rose

the-bossmanThis was a short hot read. I’m warning that this book includes domestic discipline. If you don’t like spankings as punishment to read you better skip this book but I want to point out that it was consensual. It isn’t something I would enjoy but I don’t mind reading it.

I do love mafia books and even though Joey is a mafia capo there isn’t much to read about the mafia. It is about a hot, dominating man finally claiming his woman. He just has to convince her that he’s right for her. Sophie doesn’t want to go through what her mother had to go through with a husband tied to the Cosa Nostra. Will Joey be able to convince her he’s what she needs?

I’m not a to big fan of insta-love but since this was a rather short book there is no other way but it didn’t bother me that much in this book. I would have loved a longer epilogue and wow, I totally love the cover!

3,25 stars for “At the Brink – 02 – To the Edge” by Anna Del Mar

to-the-edgeWhat would you do if the love of your life left you 15 years ago.  You never forgot him.  Now you have to write a BDSM article for a blog and you have no experience with it.  The man you contacted to initiate you left you cuffed in a dangerous situation.  You get saved by the man you never forgot and he seems to have a kinky side.  Would you ask him as a replacement???  I would definitely do it if it was Noah!!!

Noah never forgot Clara.  They were still young when they met.  He had plans and wanted her in it but life doesn’t always go like you want it to.  Now he gets another shot.  Will it work this time?

I really loved both main characters and the chemistry between them.  This was a great second chance romance with a kinky side 😉

What I missed was an epilogue and some more information on the bad guy Noah is tracking online and how that part was handled.

3 stars for “Alpha Ops – 04 – Going Deep” by Anne Calhoun

going-deepThis book was likeable but I didn’t love it. I was really annoyed by Cady’s little sister Emily. Even with her young age I really disliked her behavior.

It also lacked the suspense I hoped to find. I somehow expected more of it …

And then last … I’m not a real big fan of Insta-Love BUT I do want to read more from this author because she writes great. I guess this book just wasn’t for me…

This was the second book I read from this author. The first one was part 4 in this series with the story of Matt and Eve which I loved. So any suggestions on other books from this author are welcome!

I also loved both main characters so that with the excellent writing kept me reading.

3 stars for “Madame X – 01 – Madame X” by Jasinda Wilder

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher PENGUIN GROUP Berkley, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

Madame XI really don’t know what to do!!! I had a hard time finishing this book since I don’t like the main male character at all… I really dislike him! But for some reason I couldn’t not finish the book. I was intrigued by the story and I really wanted to know more about X. Who is she? Where did she come from? What happened? Unfortunately the answers to those questions aren’t revealed yet in the first book of this “Madame X” series.

At moments I had an issue with the POV of this book but I do like the writing style of Jasinda Wilder.

So why do I dislike Caleb so much? He claims that X belongs to him and he doesn’t share but he isn’t faithful himself. That’s a big NO for me… I guess we’ll learn why in the next book but I’m not sure yet if I’ll read the next one. I guess it just isn’t for me 😦

3 stars for “Gold Coast Romance – 02 – Heal My Broken Heart” by Elle G. Mraz

*** ARC kindly provided by the author in exchange for an honest review ***

Heal My Broken HeartThis was the second book in the Gold Coast Romance series by Elle Mraz. It’s unfortunate that it has already been 10 months since I read the previous book in this series. So it took me some time to get into it and remember … But I did like reading and hope to read the final book soon.

This book felt like a constant push and pull so personally for me it could have been a little bit shorter. What bothered me in the previous book and is the same for this one, is the constant switch between POV’s.

I do think that Talon might be an interesting character for a next book 😉 Am I bad for wanting him in a book with Ariel?? I also do love Gabe as a side character!!

3 stars for “30 Days – 02 – 30 Nights by Christine d’Abo”

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher Kensington Books, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ***

30 nightsAfter her great-grandmother Glenna left her a letter begging her to take a risk, be more adventurous and finding sex cards at her Great Glenna’s funeral Glenna want to take a chance. She discusses the cards with her best friend Jasmine but she didn’t realize they were that loud and the man of her hot dreams heard them talking about him. Finally Eric gets Glenna to accept his proposal to use the cards with him. 30 nights with a hot professor, who wouldn’t want that? Both agree that it’s just for fun, nothing serious but is it that easy to not let things go too far emotionally?

Glenna’s theory is that the cards were left by a woman who lost her husband and finished those cards herself. It seems she’s right and if you are interested in that story you might want to read the book “30 Days” first but it is not necessary to read it first to enjoy this book.

I loved the idea for this book but unfortunately it’s just a like for me. The first part dragged too long. There are hot scenes but further nothing special in my opinion. I need something more… Something which also doesn’t really work for me is Insta-Love.

Overall I did enjoy reading this one and give it 3 stars
