Sinning never felt so good…
A fortuitous encounter.
A meeting that should never have happened.

Many years ago, two children from completely different worlds forged a connection, a fateful connection, an unbreakable bond that would change their lives forever…

Salome knows only one way to live—under Prophet David’s rule. In the commune she calls home, Salome knows nothing of life beyond her strict faith, nor of life beyond the Fence—the fence that cages her, keeps her trapped in an endless cycle of misery. A life she believes she is destined to always lead, until a horrific event sets her free.

Fleeing the absolute safety of all she has ever known, Salome is thrust into the world outside, a frightening world full of uncertainty and sin; into the protective arms of a person she believed she would never see again.

River ‘Styx’ Nash knows one thing for certain in life—he was born and bred to wear a cut. Raised in a turbulent world of sex, Harleys, and drugs, Styx, unexpectedly has the heavy burden of the Hades Hangmen gavel thrust upon him, and all at the ripe old age of twenty-six—much to his rivals’ delight.

Haunted by a crushing speech impediment, Styx quickly learns to deal with his haters. Powerful fists, an iron jaw and the skillful use of his treasured German blade has earned him a fearsome reputation as a man not to be messed with in the shadowy world of outlaw MC’s. A reputation that successfully keeps most people far, far away.

Styx has one rule in life—never let anyone get too close. It’s a plan that he has stuck to for years, that is, until a young woman is found injured on his lot… a woman who looks uncannily familiar, a woman who clearly does not belong in his world, yet a woman he feels reluctant to let go…

Excerpt Reveal for “A Veil of Vines” by Tillie Cole

To most people, princes, princesses, counts and dukes are found only in the pages of the most famous of fairytales. Crowns, priceless jewels and gilded thrones belong only in childhood dreams.
But for some, these frivolous fancies are truth.
For some, they are real life.
On Manhattan’s Upper East Side, people have always treated me as someone special. All because of my ancestral name and legacy. All because of a connection I share to our home country’s most important family of all.
I am Caresa Acardi, the Duchessa di Parma. A blue blood of Italy. I was born to marry well. And now the marriage date is set.
I am to marry into House Savona. The family that would have been the royals had Italy not abolished the monarchy in 1946. But to the aristocrats of my home, the abolition means nothing at all.
The Savonas still hold power where it counts most.
In our tight-knit world of money, status and masked balls, they are everything and more.
And I am soon to become one of them.
I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And everything changed.
Caresa

I closed my eyes as the music pounded through my body. The air was sticky from the mass of bodies on the dance floor. My body swayed to the beat, my feet ached from the five-inch Louboutin heels I was wearing, and my skin was flushed from the copious amounts of 1990 Dom Pérignon I had consumed.
“Caresa!” My name split through the harsh sound of drums and synthesized piano notes. I rolled my eyes open and looked across our cornered-off section of the club at my best friend.
Marietta was sitting on an oversized plush couch, waving a new bottle of champagne in my direction. Laughing, I followed my throbbing feet to where she sat and slumped down beside her. In seconds, a champagne flute was in my hand and the bubbly was flowing once more.
Marietta sat forward, swishing her long blond hair over her shoulder. She raised her glass as though she was going to make a toast. But instead, her bottom lip jutted out into a pathetic pout.
I tipped my head to one side, silently asking her what was wrong.
“I was going to make a toast to the Duchessa di Parma, my very best friend,” she shouted over a new but similar-to-the-last song. “To my best friend leaving me here in dull old New York to go marry a real-life godforsaken prince in Italy.” Marietta sighed and her shoulders slumped. “But I don’t want to. Because that would mean this night is almost over, and tomorrow I lose my partner-in-crime.” A sudden sadness bloomed in my chest at her words. Then, when her eyes filled with tears, those words became a punch in the gut.
Placing my glass on the table before us, I moved forward and put my hand on her arm. “Marietta, don’t get upset.”
She put down her own drink and grabbed my hand. “I just don’t want to lose you.”
My stomach rolled. “I know,” I said. Then I didn’t say anything else, but I could see Marietta register my unspoken words. I don’t want to go either.
Keeping my hand in hers, I slumped back against the couch and let my eyes drift over the busy dance floor below. I watched the throng of Upper East Siders losing themselves in the music. A pang of fear swept through me.
This really would be my last night in New York. In the morning, I would fly to Italy, where I would live from that day on.
Marietta shuffled closer to me and cast me a watery smile. “How are you doing?” she asked as she squeezed my hand.
“I’m okay. Just nervous, I guess.”
Marietta nodded her head. “And your papa?”
I sighed. “Ecstatic. Overjoyed that his precious daughter will be marrying the prince he chose for me as a child.” I felt a pang of guilt for speaking about him so negatively. “That was uncalled for,” I said. “You know as well as I do, Baroness von Todesco” —Marietta scowled playfully at my use of her title— “that we don’t really get a choice in whom we marry.” I leaned forward and picked up my champagne. I took a long swig, enjoying the feel of the bubbles traveling down my throat. I handed Marietta her glass and raised mine in the air. “To arranged marriages and duty over love!”
Marietta laughed and clinked her glass with mine. “But seriously,” Marietta said, “are you okay? Truly okay?”
I shrugged. “I honestly don’t know how to answer that, Etta. Am I okay with the arranged marriage? I suppose so. Am I okay with moving to Italy permanently? Not really. I love Italy—it’s my home, I was born there—but it’s not New York. Everyone I know is here in America.” Marietta’s eyes softened with sympathy. “And am I okay with marrying Zeno Savona? The infamous Playboy Prince of Toscana?” I took a deep breath. “I have no idea. I guess that will become apparent in the next three months.”
“In your ‘courting period,’” Marietta said using air quotes, and snorted with laughter. “What a joke. What twenty-three-year-old woman and twenty-six-year-old man need a courting period?”
I laughed at her sassy tone, but then soberly replied, “Ones who don’t know each other at all? Ones who have to see if they can stand each other’s company before sealing their marital fates forever?”
Marietta shuffled closer. “You know as well as I do that you could hate this so-called prince, detest everything he is—and he you—and I’d still be your maid of honor at your wedding on New Year’s Eve.” She sputtered a laugh. “The very fact that the date has been set says it all. This marriage is happening.” Marietta held up her glass, got to her feet and, with arms spread wide, shouted, “Welcome to the life of the European blue bloods of the Upper East Side! Drowning in Prada and Gucci, dripping in diamonds, but having no free will to call our own!”
I laughed, pulling her back down. She broke into hysterics as her ass hit the couch, spilling champagne all over the expensive upholstery. But our laughter waned as the house lights came on one by one. The last of the dance music drifted into silence, and the rich patrons of Manhattan’s most exclusive nightclub began making their way to their limos and town cars. It was three o’clock in the morning, and I had six hours left in the city I loved beyond measure.

Release Day Blitz – Tillie Cole’s wonderful book A veil of Vines

And I am soon to become one of them.
I am soon to become Prince Zeno Savona’s wife…
… or at least I was, until I met Achille.
And everything changed.
I opened the window beside me and stared at the illuminated entrance. I swallowed hard and placed my empty glass on the bar. Metal groaned, breaking through the twilight, as the massive black wrought-iron gates began to open. The limo slowly pulled onto the property’s lane, and I drank in the thick forest that shielded the estate. I inhaled the freshness of the lush green trees. The unpolluted sky was thick with stars—not a single cloud in sight.
A few minutes later, the thick woods cleared, and I gasped. Acres and acres of gold and green vineyards covered the landscape. The scents of plump grapes and damp soil permeated the warm air. I closed my eyes. It reminded me of being a child. It brought me back to the days before I was taken to New York. I could still feel the heat of the Emilia-Romagna sun on my face, the deep smell of olives, grapes and flowers drifting in the breeze as I ran around our Parma estate.
I smiled a nostalgic smile and allowed my eyes to drift open again. I rested my arms on the window and leaned my chin on them as the limo drove on. There were several small villas peppered over the landscape, their lights twinkling in the distance. They must have been the winemakers’ residences. It was not only the Bella Collina merlot that was made on this land; other reds were too—particularly the Chianti from the region’s finest Sangiovese grapes. The Bella Collina olive oil was also up there with the best. But nothing compared to the famed merlot.
The limo turned right, and my breath caught in my throat. I lifted my head and stared disbelievingly at the property ahead. Bella Collina was a veritable Palace of Versailles tucked away in the Umbrian wilderness.
“Mio Dio,” I whispered as I took in the imposing stone structure, the sweeping steps and the vast number of windows set in the building’s walls. Large pillars of red-veined marble flanked the entrance. Cypress trees framed the estate as if it were the shining star of a fine Renaissance painting. Sculptures of famed Savona monarchs of old stood proudly on the manicured lawns, and strategically placed lighting illuminated the sheer perfection of every piece of topiary.
As a child, I had been to the Palazzo Savona in Florence. It was widely regarded to be one of the finest estates in all of Italy, if not western Europe. But this . . . this . . . there were no words. It was perfectly placed, as if it had always been there. As if it had grown naturally from the Umbrian earth just as sure as the vines and woods that kept this architectural treasure hidden from view.

4,5 stars for “Scarred Souls – 03 – Ravage” by Tillie Cole

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher St. Martin’s Press, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

RavageRavage is the third book in the Scarred Souls series. I loved the first 2 books in this series and was so glad that I got an ARC for this one too.

In the second book we met little Zoya. She’s the little sister from Zaal and Anri. When Zaal and Anri were taken away to be drugged to be ruthless killers they thought their little sister was killed together with the rest of their family. Little Zoya has been injured seriously and has been hidden since by a loyal employee of their family. When she learns that Zaal is still alive and there is no more threat she can’t wait to go to him … But then she gets taken by a monster. A monster willing to do everything to get to Zaal. Until the monster starts to feel. After hating the Georgian woman who took him and turned him into a monster inside and outside 18 years ago he wants to hate all Georgians but this little Georgian woman gets under his skin. His mistress has taken him and his little sister Inessa from the orphanage. Valentin will do everything to keep his sister alive. Even though her situation remains horrible… Will Zaal be able to save Inessa? Will Valentin have to chose between Zoya or Inessa? What happens when Zaal finds out that Inessa is still alive?

This book felt a little bit less violent than the previous two books in this series. We get new loveable characters. I admired Zoya’s strength. I was glad to read more from Luka, Zaal and their wives.

This book gets 4,5 stars. I’m looking forward to read Inessa’s story which will be book 4.

5 stars for “Scarred Souls – book 1 Raze & book 2 Reap by Tillie Cole”

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher St. Martin’s Press, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

Scarred SoulsThis review could be really short because the word “PERFECT!” would be sufficient! Wow! I really loved her Hades Hangmen series and I already read RAZE about a year ago and loved it too. So when this bundle showed on NetGalley I just had to request it!

So I read RAZE about a year ago and since I have read so many books but RAZE is a book that stays with you. I still remember so much about it! Initially I wanted to reread it but because of limited time I started REAP immediately.

RAZE and REAP are both wonderful books with great characters, a terrific story, wonderful descriptive parts, lots of suspense, chemistry, angst, darkness, strong main characters, …

I expected REAP to be the story of Zaal and Talia but I was so happy to find lots of Raze and Kisa in it! Yay! I’m really looking forward to the third book and hope that it’s about Zoya!

The only thing I would have loved different is a bigger epilogue in Reap so I hope to hear more about Luka, Zaal, Kisa and Talie in the third book “Ravage”. Let it soon be August 16 2016 =D

Another great book by Tillie Cole with a well deserved 5 stars!! Unforgettable!

5 stars for “Hades Hangmen – 03 – Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole”

Souls UnfracturedFlame and Maddie … OMG! During this book my heart broke several times for both of them… This was a book which made me feel so much while reading! It was very hard to read. Not because it was bad written or anything like that but because the pain both characters have been through was so hard to take. Two broken souls with a long way to go but they have each other.

This book was well written and I really liked how both Maddie and Flame developed and their relationship blossomed. I won’t write here what happened in this story … just read it please!!

“Words can wound. Silence can heal.”

I was already intrigued by Flame in books 1 and 2 and after seeing the many pictures of Josh Mario John as muse for Flame on Facebook I was dying to read his story. The story was all I hoped for and more … just perfect!

I really admired AK and Viking and how they have always taken care of Flame. I really hope they get a book of their own…

Spoiler : I liked the small pieces were we get to see that Rider/Cain is finally getting it and doesn’t seem so bad anymore. Makes me look out for his book because I kind of hated him before I couldn’t imagine want to read his story!

As mentioned in the Author’s Note: Souls Unfractured begins immediately after Heart Recaptured ends. To fully enjoy this novel, Book 1, It Ain’t Me, Babe, and Book 2, Heart Recaptured, should be read first.

5 stars for “Hades Hangmen – 02 – Heart Recaptured by Tillie Cole”

Heart RecapturedBeginning this year I read book 1 in this series and really loved it. I had this book (book 2 – Ky and Lilah) already available on my kindle for some time but hadn’t started it yet. I’m really looking forward to the story about Flame and Maddy but first I had to tackle book 2 but it wasn’t a hard chore at all! This one was a winner for me too! 5-take-life-by-the-balls stars

At only 6 years young a little, beautiful girl gets cast away from her family. From then on she’ll live in a twisted, sick, abusive commune. She doesn’t know about life outside of the sect and survives with her deep faith. When the Hades Hangmen MC destroy the commune and kill most of the evil elders and the prophet to retrieve the Mae (her best friend and now girlfriend of the Prez Styx), they also take Lilah and Maddy with them. Mae has grown up with Lilah and Maddy and managed to escape the commune for a short time. Lilah is terrified of all the sin she witnesses outside the commune and had a hard time adapting. Ky is crude and vain but slowly Lilah starts to trust him. Here I’ll stop because more would spoil the fun reading this book.

“What was, Li? What was all worth it?”
“Everything…” I whispered, my pain-filled life flashing through my mind—the tortures, the loss, the segregation, the abuse… the rapes. I nuzzled into his torso and continued. “Every single second of my life… because it eventually led me to you. It led me to fall so deeply in love with you, Ky… the man who recaptured this bruised and battered heart.”

I loved it! It’s well written and very addictive…

I look forward to reading the other books in this series! The story about Flame and Maddy is next…

I also hope there will be books in this series for Sia, Hush AND Cowboy and another with AK and Phebe…

I also love the covers she used for this series…Gorgeous!
