Unconventional by Avery AsterWhen I saw this one on NetGalley I immediately loved the cover… So gorgeous! I also love ménage books and the story sounded good.

After finishing my first thought was … ‘Is this it?’ ! At 54% in the book I made a note for myself that this book rather feels like one big epilogue and then at 56% it says “The End”. What? The End? How is that possible… It feels like I only just started reading! The remaining 44% is filled with an excerpt for “Unique”. On GoodReads it said 250 pages so I guess those include the excerpt…

This is the story of the polyamorous relationship between Jemma, Luigi and Rocco. They have been together for some time already and her men are ready to take it to the next step… Marriage and children. Now they have to convince their woman! This is all I’ll be telling about the story because I don’t want to reveal to much about their sexy journey …

As I said at 54% it felt like one big epilogue to me. This is a stand-alone book but I missed reading about their past. How they met? The struggles they had? You know … the fun part to read!

After rereading the description on NetGalley, maybe I should have recognized that this wasn’t their story from the start… Maybe a prologue would have helped!

Even though this one was too short for me I did enjoy it! I loved the idea, the characters, the chemistry. There were a few hot scenes and the story is well-written. Will I be reading more from this author? Probably!

3.5 stars for “Sugar Baby Beautiful by JJ McAvoy”

coverI have seen this one pass several times on Goodreads with other well liked book from this author but I hadn’t read any yet. Unfortunately for me it was rather a like than a love.

The first 70% felt too much like a modern fairy tale but I do love fairy tales! But Felicity seemed too good to be true.

I did love Mr. Darcy. (Every time I saw the words “Mr Darcy” in the book since it made me think of my favourite Mr Darcy ;D )

I won’t tell anything about the story since that might reveal too much but I will say that at 70% and at 87% there are huge twists in the story. I didn’t see those coming and those last 30% made it all worth! I think if the first 70% would have been smaller and the last 30 longer I would have loved this story more.

But overall I did enjoy this story of a young, feisty, troubled, strong-willed, survivor meeting the perfect, cocky, sexy, possessive, protective, understanding man for her!

Something that ruined it a little for me were the numerous spelling errors. I know my reviews are probably full of them too but English is not my mother tongue and writing reviews is as far as I’ll go. Am I nagging now? Please, you can tell me honestly!

I want to give this book 3.5 stars but will certainly read more from this author. The “Ruthless people” series is already on my Kindle. I also wouldn’t mind if Theo’s brother Arty got a book.

4 stars for “Dirty Little Secrets Book – 02 – Vetting The Senator by Alex Elliott”

*** I received this book for free from the author through The Fifty Shades Support group on Goodreads in exchange for a honest review ***

Vetting The SenatorI really liked book 1 “Seduced by the Senator” and book 2 didn’t disappoint. The story of X and Ben continues. There are many bumps in the road (press, meddling grandparents, political games, disappointing friends, jealous woman, trust issues, lies, secrets, …) but together they get past those and their relationship gets stronger.

Book 2 doesn’t end in a Cliffhanger but there are still a lot of things going on so I’m looking forward to reading book 3 “Affianced To the Veep”.

Even though my feelings on Jax are mixed I would love to read his story too!

Spoiler : Xavia has leukaemia and even though there isn’t much mentioned on this it might be a trigger for some so be aware. The part of this which did bother me is that Xavia finds out in the beginning of the book and it’s only at 67% that Ben finds gets to know this and he had to find out himself. I see that as a big trust issue. She didn’t tell him to protect him and his chosen career path but I think she should have told since she accepted him as her Dom.

4 stars for “Tear Asunder – 02 – Overwhelmed by You by Nashoda Rose”

Overwhelmed by YouI have read Emily and Sculpt’s story (books 0.5 and 1) in August 2014 and loved it!

Because of a too big TBR list, it took me some time before I started this story on Kat and Ream but ‘double fudge brownie cookie-dough fuck’ I loved every page of it! Ream can be scary, persistent, dominant but romantic too!

“You think I brought you here for you? I’m not that nice of a guy, Kat. I brought you here for me. So I could glue you back to me.” He leaned forward and kissed me then whispered against my lips, “It’s permanent glue, baby.”

My heart broke several times during this roller coaster! This is a well written story with a good combination of romance, darkness, secrets and happiness!

I look forward to read the stories of Haven and Crisis but also Georgie and Deck and hope to meet Ream and Kat in those books too.
