Homewrecker Inc by S Simone ChavousWhen seeing this title on NetGalley all kinds of different scenario’s went through my head. After reading the blurb my curiosity was peaked…

This is the story of 4 friends, all co-owners of Homewrecker Inc., conquering the world one cheating asshole at a time. They help women with suspicions on their partners lack of fidelity and go extremely far doing so. Their newest mark is Gregory Michaels and when Claudia gets assigned to this, she never expected to feel immediate chemistry with his gorgeous, charming, cocky, irresistible twin brother Greyston but Grey is off-limits! Can she now proceed with her plan to find out if Gregory is a cheater? Can you build a future on something started on a lie?

This story had great potential but, for me personally, it focused too much on the 4 friends and the job and too little on the interactions between Claudia and Greyston. I’m also not very fond of insta-love. But besides that this was a well written story with great characters and gets 3.5 stars.

This book is available for pre-order for a reduced price and will be launched January 5th 2016 : http://amzn.com/B019J3CXKS

3.5 stars for “Eighteen (18) by JA Huss”

18 by JA HussI have already read several books by this amazing author and loved most of them! My favourite is “321”.

Then a few month ago I was glad when my pre-order of “Sexy” arrived and that one really didn’t work for me. It was a DNF but maybe I’ll give it a try again someday.

I wasn’t sure about ordering “Eighteen” but I liked it! I love taboo stories and add in a hot, dirty talking teacher and I’m sold! I could connect less with Shannon. I found her irritating and immature at moments but hey, she’s only 18! The end felt a little bit rushed. I would have loved a larger epilogue…

This entertaining story gets 3.5 stars.

3+ stars for “Unchained Vice – 02 – Exhibition: Unchained Vice by Nicolette Hugo”

*** I received a copy of this book for free from the author through The Fifty Shades Support group on Goodreads in exchange for a honest review ***
coverThis is the story of a broken woman who used kink to forget her pain. After a horrible event she denies her needs for more than a year. She loves being an exhibitionist and being controlled. She meets Jason at a play party and after a wonderful moment together she runs. After meeting him again at her friend’s house they start to play together. Grace agrees to be his muse for his next EXHIBITION. During 3 weeks together they work on his art but they also develop feelings for each other but because of her secrets, Grace doesn’t feel worthy of him and runs when their 3 weeks are up. Jason has his own demons to battle. Will their feelings get a chance?

This wasn’t only a hot, kinky read but also a wonderful, well written, unique, intense story. I loved it but would have liked a larger epilogue.

3+ stars for “Alpha’s Heart – 03 – Hard to Forget by Bella Jewel”

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher St. Martin’s Press, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

Hard to forget by Bella JewelI have already read several books from this amazing author and loved them all! This is the third book in this series and it’s a stand-alone. I haven’t read the previous 2 books yet but added them to my TBR list after finishing this one.

This book brings us the story of Delaney. A young woman with a dream. After witnessing a bodyguard saving his client’s at a young age, she knew that was what she wanted to do. But a woman in this industry isn’t easily accepted. She has to constantly prove her worth, fight against prejudices and has a hard job earning the respect from colleagues at Thorpe Security, clients, … Her first real assignment turns out to be a dangerous, challenging one. She has to protect her gorgeous, broody, frustrating, silent, possessive, sexy client Jax AND her heart!

I’m glad this wasn’t a case of insta-love and could really feel the chemistry between Jax and sassy, strong Laney.

The epilogue for this book was rather short. I would have loved a bigger insight in their future.

I loved this well written book with likeable characters and look forward to read more from this author. Maybe even a book about Nak (Laney’s boss) 😉

3+ stars for “Absolution – 02 – Break Me by Sophia Scarlet”

*** I received this ARC for free from the author, in exchange for a honest review ***

Break Me by Sophia ScarletI have read the first novel ‘Bend Me’ about two months ago and loved it. Eliza/Agnes divorce papers still haven’t been signed yet by her husband. Eliza has agreed to a 2 month trial period with David as his submissive. She wants to tell her secret as soon as the divorce papers are signed. David makes her feel safe, cherished, loved, free, understood … and she wants more of this but will she get it? Will Jonathan sign the divorce papers for the divorce HE suggested? Where is he? How long can she keep her secret? Will her lies come out?

I loved this second novel and give it 3.5 stars. I look forward to read the third one ‘Bind Me’ with hopefully an HEA!

What I also loved about this book and the other two is the covers… gorgeous.

3.5 stars for “Sugar Baby Beautiful by JJ McAvoy”

coverI have seen this one pass several times on Goodreads with other well liked book from this author but I hadn’t read any yet. Unfortunately for me it was rather a like than a love.

The first 70% felt too much like a modern fairy tale but I do love fairy tales! But Felicity seemed too good to be true.

I did love Mr. Darcy. (Every time I saw the words “Mr Darcy” in the book since it made me think of my favourite Mr Darcy ;D )

I won’t tell anything about the story since that might reveal too much but I will say that at 70% and at 87% there are huge twists in the story. I didn’t see those coming and those last 30% made it all worth! I think if the first 70% would have been smaller and the last 30 longer I would have loved this story more.

But overall I did enjoy this story of a young, feisty, troubled, strong-willed, survivor meeting the perfect, cocky, sexy, possessive, protective, understanding man for her!

Something that ruined it a little for me were the numerous spelling errors. I know my reviews are probably full of them too but English is not my mother tongue and writing reviews is as far as I’ll go. Am I nagging now? Please, you can tell me honestly!

I want to give this book 3.5 stars but will certainly read more from this author. The “Ruthless people” series is already on my Kindle. I also wouldn’t mind if Theo’s brother Arty got a book.

3+ stars for “A Hollywood Love Story – 02 – Unforgettable 2 by Nelle L’Amour”

*** Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review ***

Unforgettable 2I liked book 1 and I liked this short, light book 2 even more… In the first book 1 I wasn’t sure how I felt about Brandon but yay in this book he shows such a good side of himself so I take back what I said after book 1. He’s no longer an conceited, egotistical, arrogant asshole ;D. Now he’s gentle, caring, romantic, makes her feel safe and protected, funny, … almost too good to be true.

Also this book gives us some more suspense and drama than the first. It’s also a little bit kinkier than the first. We also get to finally see the true Katrina and there is just 1 word I have for her … straitjacket!

And then the ending … Brandon has finally figured out he wants his soulmate and then WackoKat interferes … Looking forward to book 3.

A part I didn’t really like in this book… but it’s part of the story is that Brandon doesn’t dump Katrina sooner and therefor he cheats on his fiancée with Zoey! Also, the same issue, I didn’t like that Zoey slept with a married man! But as I said that’s part of the story…

3+ stars for “Scrubs by Brooke Harris”

ARC kindly provided by Xpresso Book Tours, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review.

Scrubs by Brooke HarrisThis is part 1 of a novella serial by Brooke Harris. It tells us the story of Lucas who lost his fiancé 8 years ago (overdosed). He loved her very much and wants to make the responsible ones pay! He returns to Dublin with a new identity to find revenge. To achieve this he goes undercover as a doctor in the university hospital. He feels a strong attraction to 1 of the students, Aoife. She makes him feel alive again. Aoife is learning to be a doctor (more for her father than herself) but she’s also following arts classes because that is her passion. Aoife lost her mother 3 years ago. The report on her mothers’ death seems incorrect. Will Lucas be able to make the ones responsible for the death of his fiancé pay? Is there a link with the death of Aoife’s mom? Was it really an accident or not? Will Lucas and Aoife get a HEA? I guess we’ll read that in the next instalment…

I liked the story but, like it usually is with novella’s, it was a little bit short to really get into it and feel connected with the characters. I’m looking forward to read more!

Expected publication: December 4th 2015

3+ stars for “Dirty English by Ilsa Madden-Mills”

Dirty English

What do you do when you see lots of positive reviews for a book with a gorgeous cover? Reading in the blurb that it is inspired on Pride & Prejudice makes that decision even more easy …

However for 1 quote in the start of the book, the FMC’s name being Elizabeth Bennett, P&P being one of Declan’s favourite books and a discussion about the book in class that’s it…

A little about the story but not too much … Elizabeth has had a hard life growing up but she is a survivor and tries to make the best of it on her own, with the support of her 2 only and close friends. They go to the same university and Elizabeth wants to focus on studying and working. She doesn’t need a guy in her life to make her happy and prefers the occasional one night stand… 2 years ago something terrible happened to her which still troubles her. While she tries to forget, others interfere with terrible consequences… Her gorgeous, intense, sexy, popular, protective, alpha neighbour Declan has had his own share of problems but feels attracted to Elizabeth almost immediately. She feels safe with him but when will she trust him enough to admit how she feels about him…

Even though I like more drama, suspense in my books I really enjoyed this one. One of the reason is Declan. Who doesn’t love a guy that reads? And even better he loves Pride & Prejudice … swoon!! Add a sexy British accent and the use of words like arsehole, bloody, knickers, …  I even caught myself reading with a British accent several times 😉

I also liked Declan’s twin brother Dax and would love to read his story. Dirty English gets 3.5 starsDirty English own

3+ stars for “Obscured by Tara Sue Me writing as Cat Waters”

*** ARC kindly provided by the author, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

ObscuredI enjoyed reading this story about Athena Hamilton. As a 16 year old, after losing her mother to cancer and her father abandoning her, she wants to start a new life in Las Vegas. Her dreams of becoming a showgirl don’t last long and soon she’s working as a prostitute for Mike. She’s a survivor but realises she needs to escape Mike soon. Two men want to help her but which one can she trust? First there is Isaiah, the boy who was her first kiss at 12 and is now a pastor or there is Harris who’s working for Mike for 2 years and is his second in command.

Which one to trust? Is it a trap? Which betrayal would hurt most?

This was a well written book which started slow but the second half made up for that with lots of suspense.
