Before I started this book I had a feeling I could use one to make my cry big, fat, ugly tears … What I remembered from reviews on this one, this would be the one but … I guess I’m weird because I didn’t cry! Well that’s a lie … when Norm told Bree in his own way while eating pie that he loved her I had 1 tear rolling on my cheek. And when I thought Archer (spoiler) was dead 2 more until I realized soon he wasn’t. That was it …

BUT I did really enjoy this one. It is a well written story how fate brought two broken people together!! I’m not going to write down what happens. There are already so many amazing reviews on this book …

I loved Archer… Sweet, broken, silent, gentle, thoughtful, shy Archer broke and stole my heart. I really how the author shaped his character and how he grew.

A few weeks ago I read the second book ‘Wicked Lust’ in this series and loved it. I hadn’t read many books from this author yet and when lovely Astrid suggested to do a Buddy Read we picked this book ‘Wicked Fall’. It was my first BR and I enjoyed it! Thanks, hon! XO

I always thought that Beauty & The Beast was my favorite story but after this one I think I prefer the big bad ‘Wolf’ 😉 Woolf owns many businesses but the one he enjoys most is the one with his best friend Bridger. They own a nightclub ‘The Wicked Horse’ with an exclusive sex club ‘The Silo’ in another building. Woolf has always enjoyed this lifestyle but when beautiful Callie comes into his life again he feels like she has no place in his! But it won’t take long before she has his twisted up in knots… After finding her fiancée gagged in their bed with another woman she decides it’s time to get rid of her ‘innocent’ image … But being a governor’s daughter she has to watch out… how long will that work? Do they have a chance?

Dark, handsome, possessive, kinky Woolf and sweet, innocent Callie were both wonderful characters and I could feel their chemistry!

The person I loved most was Woolf’s friend Bridger! Damn he’s hot, loyal, smart, … I look forward to his book! There was 1 scene is this book where they include Bridger and it was extremely hot… I loved it!

“Dude… my money is on Callie. I think her sunshine is going to banish your thunderstorm in like a nanosecond.”

The writing style of this book was again amazing. I’m sure I’ll be reading more from this author…

What I missed a little, and I had that with the second book too, is an epilogue. The epilogue in this book is the start of the second book …

I loved the “Gypsy Brothers” series so much but I still have to read the conclusion “Zero Hour”. When I read that there would be a series on Dornan and Mariana I wasn’t sure how I felt about that. As probably most of you, I couldn’t see why I would ever want to read Dornan’s story… But I remained intrigued and when I saw the opportunity to request “Kingpin” for review I just went for it!

This is the story of Mariana! She’s constantly trying to solve the financial mess her father gets her family in. At 19 all her efforts seem futile when her boyfriend gets killed and she finds her family on their knees with guns pointed at them … And again it’s Mariana who saves them. She offers herself up in exchange for the lives of her family. Ruthless Cartel boss Emilio accepts this and wants to auction her off as a sex slave to compensate some money they lost because of Mariana’s father. When she meets Emilio’s only son and VP of the Gypsy Brothers she immediately feels safe with him but he is a dangerous, terrifying man! Not as ruthless as his father… Dornan can’t stay away from Mariana and finds a way to keep her. Will she be safe now? Can she trust Dornan? What about her family? All those questions are answered in this amazing book.

As I already said I loved the Gypsy Brothers series and never thought I would even like Dornan a little bit but I think I do… does that make me sick?? When I think back to what happens to Juliette in Gypsy Brothers I start hating him again but in this book he shows another side of him. He can be good, caring, have mercy, …

I really loved Mariana and admired how sassy and sarcastic she remained during her captivity and my heart broke several times for her.

I loved the writing style of this dark, twisted, captivating read of forbidden love and will dive right into the second book “Kingpin”. The story will be concluded in January 2017 with the last book “Empire”.

4 stars for “The Monster Trilogy – 01 – Defaced by Marissa Farrar”

When I saw this book on NetGalley I loved the description and cover! I hadn’t heard yet from this author so I checked her other books on GoodReads and noticed she mainly writes Paranormal/Fantasy which is a genre I rarely read. So I double-checked this book and since it isn’t that genre I requested it.

This well written dark romance feels like a modern version of Beauty & The Beast which is one of my favourite fairy tales! I won’t reveal to much about the story but it’s about a damaged young woman. She loves her job to make people beautiful on the outside and happy on the inside. Because of what happened in her past she distances herself from people to protect herself so except for her patients she has no one. Monster has been sheltered his whole life by his ruthless, hard father. As the name says he feels like a monster and doesn’t show himself to anyone because his issue might be seen as a weakness. He needs Lily’s skills and orders her abduction. This is a wonderful story of two people overcoming their own issues and growing closer while they do.

“Don’t make me punish you, Flower. Things happen to me when I have to punish a woman. The monster you see on my face is nothing compared to the monster that lies within.”

There were several back flashes in this story which were very helpful to understand Monster. Monster is an intense, mysterious man who is never tought how to respectfully behave with a woman. He has some issues but with how he was raised those are understandable.

I love dark reads but often it is about women abducted to become a sex slave. This one is different and I liked it. I also loved how sassy Lily remained during her captivity. You can also feel their attraction right from the beginning.

This book ends on a HFN but I’m still looking forward to the next book in this series which will be released spring 2016.

Well there is one word I have for this book … CHANCE
Give this book a CHANCE!
Give it a chance, even when the blurb seems wrong!
Give it a chance, when you want to quit it while reading!

Stick with it and I promise you, you’ll be glad! So was I! At about 40% I had the secret figured out and it made me hate Layana’s actions even more. Now after finishing the book I still don’t agree but I can understand her! If you find that 1 perfect love you would do anything to keep it!

Because it’s difficult to tell about this story without revealing too much I won’t do it in this review, you’ll have to read the book for that 😉 Therefor I also want to advise you to try to not read to many reviews before you start this book.

When I figured out the secret I really thought about shelving this one as DNF but for some reason I just couldn’t so I put it aside for about 2 weeks and read some other books first.

Well my opinion on shelving a book as DNF has changed now. Maybe I have put to many books on that Shelve. Maybe I should really reconsider some…

Now I can say I loved this well written, well investigated, emotional roller coaster and would love to read more from this author.

“Wicked Lust” is the second book in the “The Wicked Horse” series. I haven’t read the first book yet and have to solve that real soon!

I won’t reveal too much in this review. The story is about a young woman acting on her own personal situation, wanting to bring down corrupt politicians for the political magazine she works for. This was just supposed to be a job… infiltrate a secret sex club, connect it to a governor and write a story. Now she has to make a difficult decision! She never thought to get feelings for hot, kinky Cain. She has a beautiful friendship to lose? She has to think about her mother’s sanity. No matter what she decides, people will get hurt and she has a lot to lose.

The author warns us that this series is different than her other books. This series has sex, lots of sex … dirty sex! I’m rather open minded in what I read and I do love ‘kinky fuckery’ in books. The author did a terrific job! I loved this sexy ride…

I also loved her writing style, character development and secondary characters.

What I missed a little was an epilogue for Cain and Sloane. Their story ends to soon. But I guess they’ll pop up in the next book so I’m adding that one to my TBR list as soon as it’s available on Goodreads 😉

The epilogue we do get in the book is for 2 characters which we already read about in this one: Rand & Catherine. I suppose the third book in this series will be their story and I’m looking forward to it and hope we’ll get some Cain & Sloane in it too… I also hope to someday read Bridger’s story.

The storyline of this book was kind of predictable and often used in books. I’m not going to tell too much about the story since I don’t want to spoil anything. And even though most of it was predictable I really enjoyed it!

I do love it when the male characters are likeable assholes but I really didn’t like Dante for at least the first 40% of this book and had a hard time imagining him improving. Dante was a condescending, arrogant, cruel, selfish, ruthless, unthoughtful, cocky ass. Do you get the picture? Oh and he’s hot too 😉 Cleo had to give up her dream of being a professional ballerina after an accident on stage. She’s living with her unemployed best friend in a tiny apartment. She really needs her job but Dante makes her feel again and again how incompetent she is and treats her terrible. During a business trip to Japan they act on their crazy chemistry a couple of times after which he dumps her. What was supposed to just be a fling has consequences which result in terrible heart break!

“How could you want someone so desperately while disliking them so intensely?”

After Dante did a great job redeeming himself and after they get over the terrible heart-break they get their HEA. There is also a wonderful epilogue which gave the book a needed ending!

I really enjoyed reading this well-written story in a beautiful location ‘Cape Town’ in South Africa. I googled it and it’s just gorgeous. The author also handled a very sensitive topic in a wonderful way. This was the first book I read from this author and I’m looking forward to read more!

I really loved the “Inside Out” series from this author and was so happy when I got approved for this ARC!

This is a well written story but it seemed to drag a little. Well ‘drag’ sounds worse than it was… I can’t exactly point out what I missed but I did really enjoy it. I would have loved some more suspense or drama.

As for the story. I really liked the concept of a young woman ‘Ella’ waking up in the hospital with amnesia, after she was found unconscious in an alleyway in Rome by the gorgeous, protective, wealthy, dangerous, cranky, powerful, sexy Kayden! Sounds good huh?? Kayden feels familiar to her but she doesn’t remember anything and he claims they don’t know each other. Why was she in that alleyway? What happened? Who is she running from? What is she doing in Italy? Kayden takes care of her and soon he takes her home. His friend creates a new, safe identity for her. Together they try to help her find out the truth. Small triggers make her remember painful parts of her recent and older past. There are several side characters but who can be trusted and who can’t? She feels safe with Kayden but can she trust him?

Deceit. Lies. Secrets. Danger. Pain. Now the story is finished there are still lots of questions unanswered and new questions to be answered. I’m really looking forward to the next book! I loved this one but I liked the Inside Out series more. Therefor it’ll get 4 stars.

I have only tried one book before from this author which is “Holding You”. I didn’t finish it at the moment but after reading this one I think I should really give it another chance. I do remember some parts of the start of that book so that does say something! Probably the wrong book at the wrong moment.

But this one … Damn the thing that keeps messing with my head is the last chapter of this book … I won’t reveal anything here but damn that Cliffhanger! Please, NO !!!

This book brings us the devastating story of Jilian and Jackson, 30 year old twins, who only have each other after losing their parents, identities, home, love, … everything! Before this Jilian already lost her friend Claire in a terrible way which still causes her mental issues. Together they try to build up a new life including new professions in Omaha. Strong, sexy, stubborn, playful, compassionate Jilian doesn’t want to fall in love anymore but her new, grumpy, sexy neighbour AJ, suffering from PTSD, makes her feel alive again. She still misses Dr Luke Jones (sex in a suit) who learned her to love but he’s her past.

This book made me feel so much but most of all it made me smile and really LMAO…

There was a part past the first half where it felt like the story dragged and nothing progressed but luckily that changed short after so I’m very glad that I proceeded!

I really loved this book with a fun bunch of rockers and their girls. I’m looking forward to read more from Kylie Scott.

This is the fourth and final novel in the Stage Dive series. It gives us the story of Lizzie and Ben. Lizzie is Anne’s little sister. After their parents divorced when Lizzie was 14 Anne was the one always there for her and helping her get back on track. Now Anne is married to Mal, the drummer of Stage Dive. Even though Mal told Ben, the bass-player of Stage Dive, that Lizzie is off limits both of them can’t deny their attraction anymore and 1 night has enormous consequences … ‘Bean’! Who is Bean? Will they manage to work out their issues? Friends or a real family? Will everyone support them? Just read the book if you want answers 😉 You’ll enjoy it!

Right from the start I enjoyed reading this story with wonderful characters. I especially liked Mal, he’s hilarious! As for the main characters. Lizzie sometimes felt a little bit immature but overall I liked her especially her backbone! Now Ben … Who doesn’t love a giant, tattooed, gorgeous, protective, bearded rocker? He needed quite some time to figure out which way his future needed to head but when he does, he goes for it.

This was a well written romance with enough drama to keep it fun!

As I said I’d love to read more from this author and hope that Vaughan will get a book of his own. And yay, he will … Dirty will be published in April 2016!!
