4 stars for “Alpha Ops – 04 – Under the surface by Anne Calhoun”

This was my first book from Anne Calhoun and I loved it so it won’t be my last!

Pastor’s daughter, Eve, starts her own bar with hot male bartenders. An old ‘friend’ wants to use her bar to launder his dirty drug money. Eve doesn’t want to have anything to do with this and wants to help keep her neighborhood clean. She informs the cops. She’ll help them catch him but doesn’t want any cops in her bar. When she hires a new, hot bartender she doesn’t realize he’s undercover. What will happen when she finds out? Will she manage to help them catch the ones responsible for the drug issues in the Eastside?

As I said this was my first book from Anne and I’m really looking forward to read more from her. I loved the writing style, the suspense and characters. Eve was such a strong, sassy woman! I also loved Eve’s brother Caleb and would love to read his story…

3 stars for “30 Days – 02 – 30 Nights by Christine d’Abo”

After her great-grandmother Glenna left her a letter begging her to take a risk, be more adventurous and finding sex cards at her Great Glenna’s funeral Glenna want to take a chance. She discusses the cards with her best friend Jasmine but she didn’t realize they were that loud and the man of her hot dreams heard them talking about him. Finally Eric gets Glenna to accept his proposal to use the cards with him. 30 nights with a hot professor, who wouldn’t want that? Both agree that it’s just for fun, nothing serious but is it that easy to not let things go too far emotionally?

Glenna’s theory is that the cards were left by a woman who lost her husband and finished those cards herself. It seems she’s right and if you are interested in that story you might want to read the book “30 Days” first but it is not necessary to read it first to enjoy this book.

I loved the idea for this book but unfortunately it’s just a like for me. The first part dragged too long. There are hot scenes but further nothing special in my opinion. I need something more… Something which also doesn’t really work for me is Insta-Love.

Overall I did enjoy reading this one and give it 3 stars

3+ stars for “”WJM – 01 – The Anatomy of Jane by Amelia LeFay”

I really loved this debut for Amelia LeFay. “The Anatomy of Jane” is the first book in the WJM series. I’m already looking forward to book 2 which is expected in the fall/winter 2016.

This book brings us the story of reporter Max and famous cook Wes. Both men have been in a hidden relationship for the last few years. Revealing their relationship is not possible because of Max’s family. When they get a new house maid, Jane, both men are attracted to her. Max is working on revealing a scandal concerning a governor. Who is involved? Will a relationship between the 3 of them work? Will their secret be kept?

If they were both hanging of a cliff, and I could only choose one, I’d join them on the cliff and hope we could go together.

Even though I knew there would be a cliffhanger, I hated that!! Haha. I can’t wait for the next book…
I really loved this steamy, hot book. I haven’t read much MM books yet but I can tell you that it was H.O.T. ! There are also some very hot MMF and MFM scenes. I loved both men and admired Jane’s strength.

4 stars for “Sugar Bowl – 01 – Sugar Daddy by Sawyer Bennett”

The Sugar Bowl brings sugar daddies and sugar babies together. Beck doesn’t do relationships. What should have only been a one night stand evolves into more… Will Sela be able to get her revenge? Or should she focus on her new relationship? Will Beck realize in time what a bastard JT is?

This is becoming one of the authors I love reading without even knowing what the book will be about. This first book in the Sugar Bowl trilogy was a hot read with lots of chemistry between Sela and Beck. I have screamed so hard when I finished reading … Damn I hate cliffhangers 😉

As for JT … I hated him so much! For the things he has done to Sela when she was 16 but also for the way he treats her and his ‘best friend’ Beck. If I would have been able to crawl into the book …

I’m really looking forward to the second book ‘Sugar Rush’ and the next “Sugar Free”. I hope Beck does some great grovelling 😉

3+ stars for ‘Love Unexpectedly – 02 – Good Girl by Lauren Layne’

Country singer Jenny wants to escape her life, the paparazzi, attention for some time after being accused of sleeping with a married man. Retreating to a place from her childhood in the middle of nowhere she gets to deal with cranky jerk Noah. Noah doesn’t reveal his true identity. He also has been engaged recently and his ex-fiancee has a hard time accepting this. He’s not ready yet to fall again but you can’t help falling in love. How will Jenny react when she finds out his lies. Will Noah figure out what he wants before it’s too late?

I liked both of Noah’s best friends. Both Finn and Vaughn were very likable and I loved the banter between them. I would have love more of it 😉 As for Noah, he was such a Jerk during the major part of the book. Luckily in the very end this changed. I liked this entertaining sweet romance and give it 3,5 stars. This was my first read from this author and I’d love to read more…

3 stars for “Walker Security – 01 – Deep Under by Lisa Renee Jones”

Going Under is the first book the Walker Security series which is a spinoff of the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series. I haven’t read that series yet but I have read other books of this author which I really loved!

More than a year ago Myla left home to make her dreams become true. But instead of starting a career in fashion design she gets claimed by cruel cartel boss Michael Alvarez.

Kyle takes a job to protect someone close to Alvarez and even though he hoped, he never thought it would be Myla. She was supposed to be dead but he felt she was still alive and never stopped looking for her.

While trying to protect Myla and get her to trust him feelings start growing. Will they both get out alive? Will they be able to save the women captured by the cartel?

I loved how protective and alpha Kyle was and how strong Myla was!

Unfortunately this book was just a like and not a love 😦 I loved the previous books I read from this author but this one was lacking. There was some suspense but when I really expected lots of it, it was over before it started. Therefor this book gets 3 stars. But since I loved all other books from this author so far that won’t stop me from reading more…
