3 stars for “Master on the Hill by Alex Elliott”

Recently I read the first 2 books in the “Dirty Little Secrets” series by Alex Elliott. I really enjoyed reading the story of Xavia and Bennett. Bennett and 6 of his closest friends/congressmen own an elite kink club. Troy is one of those friends. In the second book we already see some of Troy. The book “Master on the Hill” gives us a small part on the chemistry between Troy Shepard and his administrative hellcat. She’s been working for Troy for 11 months now. The work atmosphere is quite entertaining and now Troy proposes 1 night to Alicia. But will one night be enough? Which secrets will be revealed? We don’t get those answers yet in “Master on the hill”…

I enjoyed this story but unfortunately it’s too short to really get into it. I did love the chemistry between Troy and Alicia.

We’ll get to read more about them in the next book “Affianced To The Veep”.

4 stars for “Dirty Little Secrets Book – 02 – Vetting The Senator by Alex Elliott”

I really liked book 1 “Seduced by the Senator” and book 2 didn’t disappoint. The story of X and Ben continues. There are many bumps in the road (press, meddling grandparents, political games, disappointing friends, jealous woman, trust issues, lies, secrets, …) but together they get past those and their relationship gets stronger.

Book 2 doesn’t end in a Cliffhanger but there are still a lot of things going on so I’m looking forward to reading book 3 “Affianced To the Veep”.

Even though my feelings on Jax are mixed I would love to read his story too!

Spoiler : Xavia has leukaemia and even though there isn’t much mentioned on this it might be a trigger for some so be aware. The part of this which did bother me is that Xavia finds out in the beginning of the book and it’s only at 67% that Ben finds gets to know this and he had to find out himself. I see that as a big trust issue. She didn’t tell him to protect him and his chosen career path but I think she should have told since she accepted him as her Dom.

This is the well written story of 24 year old Xavia ‘Kennedy’ who shares a passionate kiss with a stranger. Seven weeks later she meets him again while she starts her internship for him. Bennett Stone is a senator but also a dominant who will help her set herself free!
Normally Ben keeps his public image and his private life separate but smart, spontaneous Xavia makes him cross the line again and again.

There is a lot of chemistry between X and Ben and the sex scenes are HOT! I also liked that Xavia was a strong, independent woman with backbone

I think this is the first book I read where the male character is a politician and this was a nice change. But even if you don’t like politics you can read this book since the politic element wasn’t too heavy.

I’m looking forward to reading more about Xavia and Ben in book 2 “Vetting The Senator! I’m also very curious to find out Ben’s secrets!
