3 stars for “Scars of the Wraiths – 01 – Take by Nashoda Rose”

TakeI really liked Torn From You and Overwhelmed by You from this author. These books aren’t paranormal books but since I liked them so much I wanted to give Take a try. I see so many positive reviews passing on Goodreads for paranormal books and felt like I was missing out and want to give this genre a try. Until now I have only read a few and my feelings are still mixed…

As for Take. I liked the storyline, I admired the strength from Max and was torn between loving and hating sexy, flirty, arrogant, dark Jasper. For the most part of the book he was such a jerk but beneath all that there was a good person … I loved how their relationship developed.

I’m still not very into paranormal… There were lots of things I didn’t really get. For example they are both Immortal but in the beginning when ‘humans’ break into Max’s house they run because they don’t want to be killed by those humans. How does the immortal part work? But that’s probably me since I’m still kind of a paranormal virgin 😉

I also had a hard time understanding the pages of glossary in the beginning of the book. I almost quit at that moment but luckily not everything mentioned in the glossary was used in the book.

Even though for me the book shouldn’t have been longer I would have loved to have read a short epilogue.

2+ stars for “Her Alpha Wolf by Regina Shiderly”

*** I received this book for free from the author through The Fifty Shades Support group on Goodreads in exchange for a honest review ***

Her Alpha WolfI don’t often read paranormal stories and this is my first with werewolves/shifters! Sometimes you have to try something new. The author mentions that the paranormal element is very light and that is true! Apart from mind reading ghost Bailey who shows a few times and 2 transformations to/from werewolves in the beginning … that’s it!

This book has a lot happening in 123 pages and it feels unfinished. We get a glimpse of Gwen’s wolf trying to come to the surface but that’s it. Since the book starts with werewolves, Simon is one, Gwen becomes one and the title is “Her Alpha Wolf” I would have expected to read about her transformation too. Even though I’m glad the paranormal parts were light in this book, I missed this. It didn’t feel complete…

This is the 3rd book I read with a Daddy Dom and Little Girl and I’m open to reading this. Simon is very dominant and Gwen a very submissive women that really needs to be taken care of. Some parts were really sweet but the parts with a diaper, playpen and sippy cup were a little bit too much for me! I know that in the book description the diaper is mentioned but honestly I was a little bit clueless and thought that had something to do with the werewolf part …

What I didn’t like and you read that in a lot of books is the bare sex without talk about STDs and birth control. And then there is the second sex scene where Simon takes her ass. If you take into consideration that she was a virgin their first time and this is only their second time and this time he already goes for her ass with little preparation! Their ‘relationship’ is too rushed for me. But as I mentioned this book is only 123 pages…

Since I knew what I was getting into (paranormal elements and ‘diaper’) I’m taking that in consideration for my rating and give this book 2.5 stars. It was too rushed and feels unfished to me.

2 stars for “The Life of Anna – 02 – Entwined by Marissa Honeycutt”

EntwinedWhen I finished part 1 (smallest book) I wasn’t sure if I was willing to read 5 books on this story and not even halfway thru book 2 I was sure. This is it for me. I liked the story but it feels like nothing really new happened in book 2 and pages are just filled with sex, abuse, punishment, … I like dark reads but this one was over the top sometimes and just disgusting instead of dark. Example: Spoiler: Devin admits to his wife that he had his mouth on Anna when she was just a 3 days old! The book could have been written without that part as far as I’m concerned!

I finished this book and kept hoping that Devin would get what he deserved or at least some. I wouldn’t have minded if this was the last book with a HEA for Anna and Alex but there are 3 more parts and at the moment I’m not willing to read more … maybe later?

This book gets 2.5 stars

3+ stars for “The Life of Anna – 01 – Enslaved by Marissa Honeycutt “

EnslavedWow I love it and I hate it !!

This is a nice dark read but not as dark and sick as I presumed when I read the Warning from the author.

Anna seems a weak person since she doesn’t fight back but that is understandable because the punishments she gets are horrible! Going thru this and surviving makes her a very strong person!

I hated Devin and Jack so much and hope they’ll get what they deserve in the future!

Luckily there are also ‘good’ guys : “The Germans“. (Alex, Wilhelm and Kurt)

I normally don’t read paranormal books except a few (Pyte/Sentinel series from RL Mathewson which I really liked) but the paranormal part in this book is minimal.

When I finished this book I was sure I wanted to read more. The choice was each book separately (5 in total) or the complete set for 10,06$ which is a very good price for 2024 pages but I don’t know if I want to read that much on 1 story. Therefor I’ll buy the books separately every time I finish one and want to proceed. Note, if you buy them separate the price difference is little.
