The author describes this book as a Dark Erotic romance and considering some books I have read this is mild. But I assume the next books are darker!
I saw some negative reviews that could have been prevented if the readers would have read the description and excerpt the author provided so please read that! This involves a part at the end of the book where Spoiler : Max hits Lucy in the face and leaves a mark
Lucy seems weak but she chooses to stay involved with Max, even at the end where she seems to struggle. I would have preferred if there had been prior punishment with spanking or something else where she would have been informed in advance what would happen if she did something wrong. Spoiler : A loving boyfriend, who slaps her in the face without knowing that could happen, is wrong and I dislike Max for that! I wanted Lucy to slap him back or even leave him.
Something that bothered me and you see in a lot of books, is that there is no mention of birth control or STDs.
This was the first book of the author and I give it 3 stars!
