Deep UnderGoing Under is the first book the Walker Security series which is a spinoff of the Tall, Dark, and Deadly series. I haven’t read that series yet but I have read other books of this author which I really loved!

More than a year ago Myla left home to make her dreams become true. But instead of starting a career in fashion design she gets claimed by cruel cartel boss Michael Alvarez.

Kyle takes a job to protect someone close to Alvarez and even though he hoped, he never thought it would be Myla. She was supposed to be dead but he felt she was still alive and never stopped looking for her.

While trying to protect Myla and get her to trust him feelings start growing. Will they both get out alive? Will they be able to save the women captured by the cartel?

I loved how protective and alpha Kyle was and how strong Myla was!

Unfortunately this book was just a like and not a love 😦 I loved the previous books I read from this author but this one was lacking. There was some suspense but when I really expected lots of it, it was over before it started. Therefor this book gets 3 stars. But since I loved all other books from this author so far that won’t stop me from reading more…

3 stars for “Manaconda by Cari Quinn & Taryn Elliott”

*** Copy kindly provided by the publisher Rainbow Rage Publishing, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

ManacondaAnd thanks to Astrid for letting me know this book was on NetGalley 😉

This was a fun and easy read about a PR responsible (Kennedy aka Kenny) and a man born to be on stage (Hunter). I love books about musicians btw … For PR purposes Kennedy needs to act as Hunter’s girlfriend. She tells herself that it is a role but guess what? Right, soon there are feelings. How could you not with such a gorgeous, hot man! Hunter has feelings too but acts weird when he sees his ex together with his band mate Bats. I would love to read Bats’ book to finally get to know what is going on between them…

I loved both characters and could feel the chemistry between them. I’m not a big fan of insta-love but it didn’t bother me as much with this book as it usually does. This book gets 3 stars.

3 stars for ‘Naked Men – 01 – Risking It All’ by Christi Barth

Risking it all by Christi BarthThis was the first book I read by this author and I’m torn a little bit. It was definitely a like but I didn’t really love it. It dragged a little, I’m not a big fan of insta-love and I didn’t really like Griff. He IS a hero but doesn’t want to be called one but at other stages in the story he kind of brags about it?? I also didn’t like how he behaved towards Chloe and his mother. Liking the male character is more important to me than liking the female one and unfortunately I didn’t like Griffin 😦

What I did like are Chloe and her profession ‘a professional letter writer’. I also liked the website the 5 friends blogged on ‘Naked Men’. Even though I didn’t love this book I would love to read about the others of this tight group of friends…

3 stars for “A Bad for You Novel – 01 – Didn’t I Warn You? by Amber A. Bardan”

Didn’t I Warn You by Amber A bardanWhen reading the blurb for this book on NetGalley I requested it because it sounded like a great dark read but I’m a little disappointed. To me it isn’t dark at all! She doesn’t get to contact anyone and Haithem won’t return her home but besides that he’s almost always great to her. There are no dangerous situations or at least they don’t feel dangerous.

Overall I still enjoyed this story and give it 3 stars.

The book ends in an HFN and will be published April 18th. The next part is expected to be published 2 months later…

3 stars for “Twisted Up In You by Dawn Martens”

*** ARC kindly provided by BookBuzz.net, via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. ***

Twisted Up In You by Dawn MartensAfter being left by their mother and landing in foster care Corinne and her sister Melissa get saved from a horrible home by the Angels Warriors MC. Melissa is finishing school and Cori is working for Blake. She has secretly had a crush on her boss but he treats her like a little sister. Blake has been wanting her for years but she is too shy and sweet for him until … Cori accidentally flirts with him. Now he’s starting to see her sassy side he goes after her. This is where I’ll stop telling the story.

This one was a difficult one to rate because I really loved the idea for this story and I liked both main characters but also lots of side characters. I loved Angel and have already pre-ordered the box set for the “Angels Warriors MC” which is published on February 15th 2016 for a great price!! Also lately I read too many books with insta-love which doesn’t work for me and that’s not the case in this book!

There were also some things that I didn’t really like… There are a few small spoilers in here so don’t read if you don’t want to know!!

– Cori knows Blake has had many women in the past because she had to take care of booking tables and sending flowers. When they first have sex he’s inside her before he mentions a condom.
– There are too many coincidences… Her boss and lover Blake was in the same foster home at the same time as Cori and they don’t remember. Resulting into something else revealed later in the book but I won’t tell here 😉 Both Melissa and Corinne don’t know their fathers and it gets revealed later on in the book who they are and again who their fathers are is a too big coincidence…
– Both Cori and Blake go behind each other’s backs to get information knowing they will hurt the other one if he/she finds out
– I also love groveling when someone in a book does something wrong but in this book they forgave too easily but that is my personal opinion ;D

The next book in this series will be Melissa’s story. We already get to read a lot about her and Dray in this book and I do look forward to read their story…

3 stars for “The Tycoon’s Forced Bride by Jane Porter”

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher Tule Publishing, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

The Tycoon's Forced Bride by Jane PorterThis is the story of Ava, Colm and Jack. This family lost several years which should have been happy. When Ava was pregnant with Jack she had a terrible accident which she barely survived. After healing she still had to deal with memory issues, balance problems and pain. She does remember Jack but she doesn’t remember marrying Colm. She doesn’t feel adequate to be the mom little Jack deserves. Malcolm thinks she has had enough time and the doctor’s suggestion to give her time isn’t working. He starts fighting to have his family where they belong … together!

I really loved this idea and the story was nice but unfortunately is wasn’t a wow for me. I admired Jack’s relentlessness, how he raised Jack alone and how he took Care of Ava for all those years without her knowing about it but I couldn’t understand Ava. Being a mother myself I couldn’t imagine not wanting to spend every available second with my children. But I don’t have the issues Ava has so it’s difficult to connect with her.

The story also dragged a little bit for me and seemed a little repetitive. I also would have loved some more interaction between Ava and Jack when they finally got back together but overall I enjoyed it this book.

3 stars for “Taken by the Raider by Dani Collins”

Taken by the raider Dani CollinsWhen I requested this book on NetGalley I wasn’t sure if I really wanted to because the book wasn’t on GoodReads yet and this is a new author to me but I was pleasantly surprised …

This books brings us the story of Aubrey and Griffen. Audrey is a caring person doing everything for her family. Griffen is a ruthless businessman going through great lengths to get his prize … Aubrey! I won’t tell more about the story since it already is a short one. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it had been longer… I also think Aubrey gave in a little bit to easily with Griffen. This book gets 3 stars.

3 stars for “Wind Dragons MC – 03,5 – Dirty Ride by Chantal Fernando”

*** ARC kindly provided by the publisher Gallery, Threshold, Pocket Books, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

Dirty Ride by Chantal FernandoValentina finally manages to escape her abusive husband. When she reaches a place she wants to try for a new start, she meets hot, alpha, bad-boy Ardan (aka Irish). She isn’t ready for a new man yet but will she be able to resist his charms? Will the past catch up? I won’t tell more because this is a really short book. A little to short to really connect with the characters. It was definitely a fun read. MC books is one of my favorite genres and I really loved Ardan. I’m not too fond of insta-love so the love declarations went a little too fast for me…

I definitely want to read the previous books in this series!

3 stars for “Quick and Dirty – 01 – Dirty Little Lies by Clare James”

*** Copy kindly provided by the publisher Barclay Publicity, via NetGalley, in exchange for an honest review. ***

Dirty Little Lies Clare JamesThis is the story of Stevie. She loves her boyfriend Max and everything, except their libidos, seems great. After she finds a pack of condoms in his bag she moves out. She wants to Get Her Sexy Back and gets the help from sexy Gabe.

This is as far as I’ll go telling the story since I don’t want to spoil too much. This story has been written numerous times : Problems relationship or wanting to be able to seduce an unreachable hot guy. Getting lessons or help from another hot guy and falling for that hot guy in the end. I don’t mind reading this storyline again but this version wasn’t anything special.

There were also some small things that I didn’t really like

1. She thinks Max has cheated on her and still entertains the idea to win him back. If he wants her back he should grovel and prove himself!!
2. With Gabe there was NO talk about birth control or STD’s and they don’t use a condom
3. At the kinky club they don’t talk about a safe word. Gabe is the owner so it’s not like he is new to it.
4. I’m not a big fan of insta-love. 2 weeks is too soon for me

Overall this was a nice, fast read and I give it 3 stars. The book ends in a HFN. The conclusion of this book is “Dirty Little Tricks”

3 stars for “A Hollywood Love Story – 03 – Unforgettable 3 by Nelle L’amour”

*** Received an ARC from the author in exchange for an honest review ***

Unforgettable 3I loved the first two books in this series but unfortunately I can’t say the same for this third part. It’s still a light, easy read but for me this one was too predictable.

There is also a Cinderella-based dream in the beginning from the book which I didn’t like at all. Also I have been patient with Brandon in books 1 and 2 and for me personally it took too long before he got some balls and took life in his own hands.

Overall I enjoyed this series!
