From this Underground Kings series I read book 1 “Assumption” about a month ago and loved it. There we got introduced to Kai. Book 2 is the story of Kai and Myla. Their mothers were friends and after Myla’s parents get killed Myla is raised with another family. Kai’s father and later Kai kept eyes on Myla and when she is in danger Kai steps in and makes her his wife to protect her. Even though their marriage is to pretend, they fall in love quite fast but for this book it works!
“When you were little, I found you crying in your tree house. I wasn’t very old then, but the moment I saw you with tears in your big, blue eyes, I knew you were something that needed to be protected.”
TU Kai I loved Kai . Kai is very alpha but also very sweet, romantic and obsessed with ’tan lines’.
“The gods had written you into my destiny a long time ago, makamae,” he says quietly.
When reading the description of Kai I really regretted that the author didn’t put him on the cover of the book.
He looks like an ancient Hawaiian warrior. His long, wavy hair is tied into a ponytail at the back of his neck with a piece of leather cord. His wide nose and square jaw make his full lips and long eyelashes somehow appear masculine. At five eight, I have never felt short, but next to him, I feel minuscule. He must be at least six seven. His shoulders are so broad that I wouldn’t be surprised if he had to turn slightly to fit through most doorways.
This well written book with great characters, lots of romance, suspense and even funny parts (Uncle Frank) and gets 4 stars.
The next book will be about Sven and Maggie and I’m looking forward to it! I also wouldn’t mind if Pika got a book.
I already have 3 more first in a series books from her available on my Kindle and hope I’ll enjoy them as much as the Underground Kings series. (Fighting to Breathe / Until November / Until July).
