I loved the first two books in this series. Book 1 and 2 bring us the heart-breaking story of Fallon and Luca. In those books we get introduced to Adriano and Camilla (Cam). After book 1 I wasn’t sure yet how I felt about Adriano but book 2 took those doubts away. Camilla was introduced too but there was still too much mystery around her to insight in her

Cam has been on her own since her mother died when Cam was 16. When she gets too curious at a bartending job for Fat Sal she witnesses something she shouldn’t and gets trapped. After suffering for 5 months she manages to escape Fat Sal and soon after she gets a job offer from James (Mafia boss but this is not known to her) as a bartender in the Strip club in the House. Adriano pursues her but she denies him for 3 months. They have a wonderful friendship before this which gets ruined by the sex. Eventually Cam falls in love with Adriano but Adriano denies their love because he doesn’t want to bring her into his world. After a failed attempt to help Fallon escape (book 1) she was fired and a few days later she disappears… She’s now trying to escape Fat Sal AND the Syndicate (Chicago Cosa Nostra Mafia). She’s missing for 9 months and Adriano’s next job is to find the woman who got under his skin but he can’t touch anymore since she is a Mafia Princess spoiler : (At the end of book 2 we learn that James, the Chicago Syndicates boss, is her father)  This is all I’m going to tell about the story…

Even though I read the first 2 books a lot was still unknown about Cam. We get lots of helpful flashbacks in the beginning of this book.

I loved this wonderful fairy tale of forbidden love between the Mafia Princess and the hot, alpha, Italian Mafia Capo. This was well written with lots of suspense, hot sex and some interesting twists.

Since there is another book coming I was afraid during the last 8% that something terrible was going to happen but luckily this was not the case. The book ends rather nice but I’m still looking forward to read more about their story now they can finally/hopefully really be together!

I loved the first book “For Fallon”. It had just the right combination of romance and suspense for me. My heart was completely broken when I finished it and dived immediately into For Luca hoping that Fallon and Luca would soon get their HEA. But how wrong I was…

Many horrible events and a lack of trust make the distance between them enormous. Fallon’s strength and perseverance and Luca’s will to keep fighting for Fallon and protect her finally bring them back together. This story was a huge rollercoaster and had me sitting on the edge so often! But in the they get their HEA. I really loved the epilogue, I truly loved and needed that!

I’m really looking forward to start book 3 “For Adriano” and book 4 “For Cam” (not published yet). In book 1 we already read about their (non-)relationship and in book 2 we see lots of Adriano (and I like him more now than when I finished book 1) but only little of Camilla. I hope they’ll get their own HEA but will that be possible with a fun fact which was written almost at the end of book 2?

I loved this one and give it 4.5 stars!

I love reading and lately I have read a lot of great romance books which are just that … romance! I like some drama, suspense, … in my books and “For Fallon” had just the right amount of that while still remaining a great romance!

Gorgeous, alpha, possessive, protective, attentive, Italian Luca falls for a woman outside of the Syndicate (Cosa Nostra mafia). She was just supposed to be a job but he couldn’t help being pulled in by her. Everything seems to go fine but after a few months Fallon catches lie after lie and soon Luca’s lifestyle puts her in danger…

This was the debut novel for this author and I really loved this well-written story and am really glad the next book “For Luca” is already on my kindle. I hope it will mend my broken heart!

I’m also looking forward to book 3 “For Adriano” and book 4 “For Cam” (not published yet). In book 1 we already read about their (non-)relationship and I hope they’ll get their own HEA.

4 stars for “Last Call – 02 – Make It a Double by Sawyer Bennett”

This was a nice, well-written romance with a hot, broody, damaged, protective, romantic Brody and kind, caring, sweet Alyssa. After Brody realises his prejudices were wrong he gives his feelings for Alyssa a chance and then their relationship goes rather fast, a little bit too fast for my liking… Further except from a shitty ex-girlfriend showing up shortly and a stalking ex-boyfriend we get a wonderful romance but I prefer a little extra in my reads… Some more suspense, drama, … But those are personal preferences. I really did enjoy this book and am looking forward to read more from this author.

4 stars for “Knitting in the City – 01 – Neanderthal Seeks Human by Penny Reid”

This was kind of a situation of the perfect book at the perfect moment but I think you really need to be in the mood for this one to work. I really needed something fun and Neanderthal Seeks Human was great!

I loved brilliant, sweet, quirky, eccentric, honest Janie. She’s like a walking, talking Wikipedia. She did remind me a little bit of Dr Brennan in Bones… In the beginning it was hilarious but I’m glad that further in the book there was less fact-throwing because it might have been tiring. But I sure learned a lot from those facts 😉

And then there is silent, strong, patient, kind Quinn …. Mmmmm! I want one of those myself… But I missed him a little in the book. I would have loved to have learned more about him.

At the end of the book I read that this was the first full-length novel published by this author and she did a really good job! This was a light, fun, well-written romance…

4 stars for “On the Ropes – 01 – Fighting Silence by Aly Martinez”

Recently I saw a lot of great reviews on “The Fall Up” which isn’t available to buy yet so I wanted to read another book from this author first. Thanks Christy for suggesting to start with this one, I loved it. I’m sure there are more than 1 Christy on GoodReads but I guess she’ll know it’s her… I was intrigued and who doesn’t like a hot, strong boxer?

One thing that I was a bit afraid of was the indication of College in the shelve list on Goodreads. I try to prevent books with characters still in school because it’s more difficult to relate with them. God now I feel really old 😉 But fortunately this was not an big issue with this book.

I really loved this well written, beautiful but sad story about Eliza and her soulmate Till. Their first encounter was at 13, they both had a hard life growing up and with some struggles on the way they grew up to 2 wonderful, strong, caring people! I won’t tell more about this story. You can read it in the description of the author or even better buy the book and read it …

There are 2 smalls things that bothered me a little about this book. The first is the time gaps in the story. It felt like pieces of the story were missing/rushed. And the second is that I like a little bit suspense in my books. It took until 89% before there was suspense. But still an enjoyable book!

I loved most of the side characters but especially Flint and Quarry and will definitely read their books, hopefully soon but first I need to get my TBR list reduced!

4 stars for “Shot Callers – 01 – Lev by Belle Aurora”

I really loved this story and needed some time to process it all before writing this review. I wasn’t sure about the rating but I’ll stick with 4 stars!

I won’t give to many details about the book but in short it’s the story of 24 year old Mina who has been surviving the streets for 7 years. She’s desperate and near starvation when she steels a wallet and gets busted by Lev. As of that moment perfectly imperfect Lev takes care of her and what starts as a friendship develops into a beautiful relationship.

It is mostly a romance and a beautiful, well written one! But I prefer a little bit of drama or suspense in my books. I had hoped this would be another dark read but after reading some reviews I knew it wouldn’t be but still I was intrigued and bought it… and I’m glad for that!

I also loved most side characters. As for this series, I couldn’t find where the next books would be about but I really hope it will be the story of Cora and Alessio! And hopefully we’ll read more about Mina & Lev in those new books…

After RAW, this was only my second book by Belle Aurora but it will definitely not be the last. I loved both stories and am sure there are more jewels between her books!

3 stars for “Men of Inked – 04,5 – Rebound by Chelle Bliss”

Sam already made an appearance in the previous books in this series as Izzy’s friend with benefits. Unfortunately he silently hoped to get more from Izzy but she fell madly in love with James.

Now Sam is in New Orleans to go through his heartbreak. In a bar he meets Fiona who recently divorced after catching her husband with his secretary.

This was a little bit too short for me but nice and well written. I didn’t always like Sam in the previous books but love him with Fiona and am glad he got his dream girl and HEA!

I loved the Gallo family in the previous books in this series!

4 stars for “Hearts – 01 – Kaleidoscope Hearts by Claire Contreras “

I had this one on my kindle since January 2015 and my TBR list is just too big! It’s difficult to choose the next one… Since I saw so many good reviews pass about this one it was about time to finally read it and I’m glad I did!

I loved this beautiful, well written story about second chances! A year after losing her controlling, jealous but loving fiancée, Estelle meets the boy again who broke her heart several years before. Oliver is a man now and fights to prove to the woman he never stopped loving that he really wants her…

I really loved Elle. She is a warm, strong woman with a big heart. I however wanted to give her a little push in Oliver’s direction sometimes because I was often afraid she was going to lose him being so hesitant.

Oliver is gorgeous, a wonderful friend and a great doctor. His insecurities have prevented him from going after Estelle sooner.

I’m looking forward to reading the other books in this series!

I love books about second chances and liked how we got to read those flashbacks to understand what happened when they were younger …

I’m curious about the next book in this series with Mia & Jenson! I also hope Victor is going to get a book …

5 stars for “Hades Hangmen – 03 – Souls Unfractured by Tillie Cole”

Flame and Maddie … OMG! During this book my heart broke several times for both of them… This was a book which made me feel so much while reading! It was very hard to read. Not because it was bad written or anything like that but because the pain both characters have been through was so hard to take. Two broken souls with a long way to go but they have each other.

This book was well written and I really liked how both Maddie and Flame developed and their relationship blossomed. I won’t write here what happened in this story … just read it please!!

I was already intrigued by Flame in books 1 and 2 and after seeing the many pictures of Josh Mario John as muse for Flame on Facebook I was dying to read his story. The story was all I hoped for and more … just perfect!

I really admired AK and Viking and how they have always taken care of Flame. I really hope they get a book of their own…

Spoiler : I liked the small pieces were we get to see that Rider/Cain is finally getting it and doesn’t seem so bad anymore. Makes me look out for his book because I kind of hated him before I couldn’t imagine want to read his story!

As mentioned in the Author’s Note: Souls Unfractured begins immediately after Heart Recaptured ends. To fully enjoy this novel, Book 1, It Ain’t Me, Babe, and Book 2, Heart Recaptured, should be read first.
